Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for leading management level and hourly associates in the manufacturing facility across multiple shifts who are responsible for the daily production and distribution of high-quality beverages in a safe and efficient manner; this includes Production, Maintenance, Quality Control, Management Systems, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and Transportation. Based on ranking criteria of volume, crewing, process complexity, number of lines, and warehousing functions, this role will manage a Level 3 plant. 

What your day will look like:

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws
  • Interview, hire, and train associates
  • Plan, assign, and direct work

  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Monitoring daily production lines producing cases of carbonated or still beverage products
  • Encourages process improvement plans to increase productivity, quality, safety, and customer service in order to benefit the company system and suppliers or customers by directing supply chain activities, involving external suppliers, functional peers, account teams and/or cross-functional teams
  • Evaluating and implementing changes to improve warehouse operations distributing high volumes of cases through replenishment. Manages and troubleshoots logistic systems for warehouse, shipping/receiving and overall movement of inventory to ensure accuracy of transactions and inventory count
  • Coordinating and communicating across management staff concerning information about audits, necessary downtime, meetings, training, Company policy changes, visitor, tours, and product/package changes as well as other issues that may arise
  • Leading efforts to ensure site compliance in areas of safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HAACP), the company Quality Systems and Regulations, International Standards Organization – ISO 22000, Publicly Available Specification -PAS220, Environment)-1 and Safety)-1 requirements, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration  (OSHA) regulations
  • Executing capital improvement projects, new product, and new package introductions
  • Responsible for establishing long and short-term goals and assist in the preparation process for Capex and operating budgets
  • Analyzing key performance indicators and develops new ones for the manufacturing and distribution operations to improve efficiencies
  • Maintaining an open-door policy and spend time talking with associates at their job on a regular basis
  • Reviewing plant production equipment to recommend process improvements
  • Validate production against demand requirements to minimize out of stock and overstock conditions and communicate to appropriate management as needed
  • Investigate and identify root causes of any facility safety or security incident or environmental regulation non-compliance to prevent reoccurrence of similar incidents

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with the company fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with the company safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English 
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills 
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 5 to 10 year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
  • Proficient knowledge in the operation of continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment
  • Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HAACP), International Standards Organization (ISO) certification in areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality and Food Safety, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN, total productive maintenance (TPM) or similar)
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) Software (SAP preferred)
  • Proven problem-solving skills, presentation skills, Team/Employee development skills and negotiation skills
  • Effective analytical, organizational, team building, technical and written communication skills
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, vehicle operation, grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation and exposure to noise
  • Repeated sitting and exposure to water
