Structural Engineer – Marine Project
STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Typical duties include:
- Communicate and interact with clients periodically, providing high levels of client service.
- Perform concept planning with other design disciplines and clients.
- Perform analysis and design of a variety of structures, with any material.
- Perform structural condition assessments of existing structures and write reports.
- Coordinate and work with other design disciplines throughout design.
- Create construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Ensure project designs are completed in accordance with a variety of building codes and local amendments.
- Assist with the completion of opinions of cost for concepts and full designs.
- Perform construction services, including reports, site visits and responding to contractor questions.
- Perform design peer reviews (reports, calculations, drawings, specifications).
Experience:
5+ years of structural design experience. Active PE License required
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, structural emphasis.
Skills:
- Experience with finite element modeling programs, primarily RISA and SAP2000.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks within budget.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work with team members.
- Ability to perform field work for assessments and construction observation in a variety of environments.
- Ability to solve problems and evaluate a variety of options.
- Ability to periodically travel to other offices.
- Excellent time management skills.
