Technical Sales Representative
Responsibilities
- Interact with equipment operators’ personnel (maintenance managers, purchasing managers) to determine customers’ needs for spare parts and equipment up-grades
- Communicate customer requests and needs to company’s service department at the German head office
- Technical writing of proposals and marketing materials
- Request proposals from third party vendors
- Order entry into company’s database system
- Oversees and facilitates order progress (supply of documentation, shipping schedule, installation planning)
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or other recognized field of Engineering/Technical discipline
- Experience in an equivalent position with a custom engineered machinery supplier
- Preferred to have experience in the wood products industry
- Organizational Skills necessary to work multiple sales efforts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English language
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good computer skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with ACCPAC and Navision business software preferred
- German language a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Will require up to 60% travel in North America, with travel required overseas
